Jo is a sociologist of work. Her previous work has focused on trade unions, skills, and training. Jo has worked as a policy researcher on these topics for both governments and trade unions with a particular focus on lower-paid workers, their skills and training needs and how these are represented in policy-making at organisational, sectoral and national levels. Jo has been working with Ursula and Vera on projects on worker perceptions of climate change and the Just Transition and related union policy and practices in the UK, Germany, Canada, and Australia. She is working on the case studies in Spain and the UK for this project.
